International conference on ‘Sustainable Peacebuilding’

On 22 and 23 September an international conference will be held in Utrecht, titled ‘Global-Local Dialectics of Peace and Violence: A Critical Review of ‘Sustainable Peacebuilding’’. The organisers are Utrecht University’s Centre for Conflict Studies and SPBUILD Training Network.

This conference is organised in the framework of SPBUILD – an Initial Training Network funded under the Marie Curie Actions of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission. One of the objectives of this network is to generate sustained debate, exchange, and mutual understanding between academics, policy makers, NGOs, and media professionals on key issues surrounding peace and conflict, security, and sustainable development.
