Professor Mart\u00edn-Cabrera is currently working on a transatlantic study of detective fiction published during the post-dictatorship period in Spain and the Southern Cone. He is also co-author of a textbook (Mas all\u00e1 de la pantalla: el mundo Hispano a trav\u00e9s del cine.
