Eulàlia Díaz i Ramoneda

Eulàlia Díaz i Ramoneda, is an archaeologist specialising in Forensic Anthropology, focusing on contemporary conflict and Human Rights. She is a member of the modern and contemporary archaeology research team “El passat més recent” (University of Barcelona) and is a member of the scientific associations Associació Memòria Soterrada and the Selek Association. She is part of several projects to locate, recover and study the skeletal remains of victims of the Civil War and Francoism, as well as projects to study and excavate war structures related to the conflict and the dictatorship in different parts of the territory such as Catalonia, Aragon, the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Country. From archaeology and forensic anthropology, she focuses her research on the study of burial sites and the treatment of the bodies as testimonies of the repressive processes. She is currently working on the location and exhumation of mass graves from the Civil War and Franco’s dictatorship with various research teams, especially in the Valencian Country, Extremadura and Andalusia.
