Francisco Ferrándiz Martín

(PhD en Antropología, Universidad de California en Berkeley, 1996) es Profesor de Investigación del Instituto de Lengua, Literatura y Antropología (ILLA) del Centro de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales (CCHS) del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). Sus campos de interés incluyen los estudios culturales, la religiosidad popular, la antropología visual, la antropología médica, la antropología del cuerpo y la antropología de la violencia, con especial énfasis en investigaciones relacionadas con la memoria y el trauma social.

Hasta el momento, sus dos grandes proyectos etnográficos han tenido como objeto el culto espiritista de María Lionza en Venezuela y, desde 2003, las políticas de la memoria en la España contemporánea, a través del análisis de las exhumaciones de fosas comunes de la guerra civil (1936-1939).

Ha desarrollado actvidad docente e investigadora en las Universidades de Berkeley, Virginia, Central de Venezuela, Utrecht, Autónoma del Estado de Morelos, Deusto y Extremadura. Ha impartido también docencia de postgrado en las Universidades Central de Barcelona, Complutense, Rovira i Virgili y del País Vasco.

Ha sido Investigador Principal de cuatro proyectos I+D+i dedicados al análisis transnacional y comparado de las políticas de memoria en la España contemporánea: Las políticas de la memoria en la España contemporánea en perspectiva transnacional y comparada [POLMEM] (PID2019-104418RB-I00, CSO2009-09681, CSO2012-32709, CSO2015-66104-R). Fue también Investigador Principal del CSIC en el proyecto europeo H2020 Unsettling Remembering and Social Cohesion in Transnational Europe (UNREST, 2016-2019), y formó parte del Management Committee de la COST Action IS1203 In Search for Transcultural Memory in Europe (ISTME, 2012-2016).

En la Universidad de Deusto (1999-2006), fue Director de la Cátedra UNESCO para la Formación de Recursos Humanos para América Latina (2001-2002), y Director del Doctorado Migraciones y conflictos en la sociedad global (2002-2006). Actualmente es Coordinador de la red europea EDEN (European Doctorate Enhancement on Peace and Conflict Research), financiada por el programa Erasmus de la Comisión Europea. Ha publicado numerosos artículos en revistas nacionales e internacionales.
