North American Theoretical Archeology Group (TAG)

The Theoretical Archaeology Group (TAG) has been debating archaeological theory since 1979.  TAG was started by the Universities of Sheffield, Cambridge and Southampton in the UK and still holds a thriving and active conference every December at different sites in the UK.

In 2008 TAG-NYC marked the arrival of TAG in the USA. This meeting, held at Columbia University in New York was followed by TAG at Stanford University in 2009.  Since then meetings have been held at Brown, UC Berkeley, SUNY Buffalo, Chicago and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
